Character Progression Strategy

The Training System

Upon leveling up, characters gain 3 training points. Spend these at trainers to increase attributes. The key is the "rubber-band effect": training a secondary skill (Combat, Magic) yields huge gains if it's far below its primary attribute (Dexterity, Intelligence).

  • For Fighters: Train Combat until it's 1 point higher than Dexterity. Then, train only Dexterity. This raises both stats efficiently.
  • For the Avatar (Mage): Raise Intelligence first to create a large gap with the Magic skill. Then train Magic for massive mana pool increases.

Economic Exploits

Training costs gold, but Britannia's economy is easily broken. Use these methods to fund your party's rapid advancement.

  • Infinite XP (Britain): Repeatedly accept Batlin's quest to deliver a package to Minoc without taking the second package.
  • Infinite XP (Buccaneer's Den): Reconcile the feuding pirates Mole and Blacktooth over and over.
  • Infinite Gold: Hunt green drakes in Dungeon Destard. They frequently drop diamonds, which sell for a high price to the Britain jeweler.
  • Free Training: Sentri in Britain offers free Dexterity training, which also boosts Combat. He is the most valuable trainer in the early game.

Armory & Bestiary

Success in combat is determined by preparation. Browse the realm's most powerful equipment and learn the tactics required to defeat Britannia's most dangerous creatures.

Top-Tier Equipment

Systematically acquiring the best gear is the primary path to power. Here are the locations of the game's most essential and powerful items.

Item Name Type Effect / Stats Location

Strategic Bestiary

Brute force isn't always enough. Know your enemy's weakness to ensure a swift victory.

The Spellbook

Master the arcane arts. While destructive spells are plentiful, utility magic is often the key to survival and progress. Plan your spell acquisitions and manage your reagents wisely.

Essential Spells

Prioritize acquiring this suite of utility spells. They are more reliable than offensive magic in chaotic combat and many are required to complete the main quest.

Quest-Critical Spells

  • Seance: Mandatory to communicate with the spirits of Skara Brae.
  • Destroy Trap: Needed to access the Tetrahedron Generator.

Top-Tier Utility Spells

  • Mark & Recall: Invaluable for setting a teleport point and returning instantly.
  • Unlock Magic: Opens magically sealed chests and doors.
  • Heal & Cure: Fundamental for party survival.
  • Mass Might: Buffs the entire party's strength.

The Ultimate Spell

  • Armageddon: An 8th Circle spell that kills nearly every NPC in Britannia. It will break most quests but unlocks unique, grim dialogue from key characters. Use with extreme caution.

Reagent Economics

Reagent costs vary wildly between vendors. Select a reagent below to find the most economical place to shop and save thousands of gold.
